Twins fans will now get the entire season on Spencer Municipal Utilities (SMU) cable beginning with the 2011 season. SMU will offer all Twins games on Fox Sports North (FSN), channel 37 and in HD on channel 237 for Spencer subscribers.

”We have a lot of customers who are Minnesota Twins fans and we are excited to be bringing all the 2011 games to our customers for the upcoming season,” said Amanda Gloyd, SMU’s sales and marketing coordinator. In addition to the entire Twins season, SMU customers will also have additional coverage of Minnesota Wild hockey games with SMU’s new programming contract with FSN.

“We continue to look at ways we can add value to customers and with the baseball fans in the area bringing the additional Twins coverage to Spencer is one of the ways we can do that,” said Gloyd. “With the 2011 season upon us we’d also like to take this opportunity to remind customers that due to the geographic location of Iowa in relation to several Major League Baseball teams, there will still be blackouts in our area for several teams.” SMU would like to be able to provide coverage of all the area Major League Baseball teams; however the league decides which teams may have blackouts in our area.

Spencer Municipal Utilities is a leading provider of cable, Internet, telephone and cellular service through i wireless in the Spencer community and has been providing water since 1886 and electric services since 1901.
