The drinking water advisory issued February 23, 2021 for addresses in West Spencer has been cancelled. The system has been repaired, repressurized, and bacteria samples have been collected and passed without any indication of contamination.

CANCELLED DRINKING WATER ADVISORY

The Spencer Municipal Utilities Public Water Supply has lifted the precautionary advisory issued Tuesday, February 23, 2021 to boil the water before using for drinking or to use an alternative source.

The system has been repaired, repressurized, and bacteria samples have been collected and passed without any indication of contamination. This advisory was a precaution until bacterial sample results were available and indicated contamination was not present.

The system has notified the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and been in full compliance with all accepted standards.
