With construction continuing on Spencer Municipal Utilities (SMU) Water Treatment Facility, water will be treated and supplied from the 32nd Avenue Pump House rather than the Water Treatment Facility starting Monday, May 18th through the end of May.
What this means for customers is the water service provided to the community will still meet all regulatory standards, even though customers may notice some slight differences including the hardness of the water as well as the taste and smell due to a different chlorination process for treating the water. SMU does not expect any interruptions to water service throughout the construction process.
If customers have questions or concerns regarding the water during the construction process, they can contact SMU by phone at 580.5800.
Spencer Municipal Utilities is a leading provider of cable, internet, telephone and iWireless cellular service in the Spencer community and has been providing water since 1886 and electric services since 1901.
