SMU’s commercial and industrial customers are urged to attend the upcoming Energy Efficient Lighting Workshops on Tuesday, March 22nd.  The event will be held at Legends Events and Social Center, 422 1st Avenue East in Spencer.

The morning workshop session will focus on improvements in interior lighting.  “How Low Can You Go” will give businesses ideas on how an effective, efficient lighting design can improve productivity and lower your energy bills.

The afternoon session will focus on exterior lighting.  LED lighting technology has made amazing improvements in quality and pricing, making it a top choice for outdoor lighting today and in the future.  The workshop will discuss how LED compares to traditional outdoor lighting fixtures such as metal halide and high pressure sodium.

Both workshops will be taught by Stan Walerczyk of Lighting Wizards in California.  Stan has been consulting with clients on lighting design for over 22 years, and has led dozens of similar workshops across the nation.

The morning session starts at 8:00am, but you are encouraged to come anytime after 7am to enjoy a complimentary breakfast.  Lunch will be available between Noon and 12:30pm.

The SMU Energy Efficient Lighting Workshop is absolutely free to all SMU commercial and industrial customers, as well as area lighting contractors.  However, we do request that you RSVP by Monday, March 21st so we can plan for enough food.  To RSVP, call Curtis Dean at 712-580-5819 or email curtis.dean@smunet.net.
