The latest edition of Spencer Municipal Utilities’ annual Consumer Confidence Report on water quality has been prepared and is being distributed. SMU customers will be receiving a copy of the report with their May utility statement and the report is available online at: https://smunet.net/water/consumer-confidence-report/.

The report provides details of drinking water testing conducted during the calendar year 2017. SMU regularly tests over 80 drinking water contaminants, and the 2017 data again shows no violations of EPA rules for water quality.

“Our wells are based in an aquifer that is a high quality source which we improve for our customers with disinfection and lime softening,” says Amanda Gloyd, SMU marketing & community relations manager. In addition to showing the result of water testing from last year, the Consumer Confidence Report also gives customers details on SMU’s water source, treatment methods, and other important health information.

Copies of the report are also available at the SMU Customer Service Center at 520 2nd Avenue East, Suite 1 in Spencer.

Spencer Municipal Utilities is a leading provider of cable, internet, and telephone service in the Spencer community and has been providing water since 1886 and electric services since 1901.
